Biography
Rebecca Lucy Taylor is better known as a musician under moniker Self Esteem emerged following the success of her empowering single 'I Do This All The Time' (2021). Her acclaimed second album "Prioritise Pleasure" (2021) quickly followed, tackling her experiences of modern day womanhood, and received nominations for the Mercury Prize, BRIT Awards, Sky Arts, and NME Awards. She spent a decade as one half of indie duo Slow Club before adopting the pop star persona as a single artist. Taylor has continued to grow, by branching out into acting, starred in a regular role in the Sky series Smothered, before completing a run playing Sally Bowles in the multiple Olivier Award-winning production of 'Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club' in London's West End. Starring alongside Jake Shears (lead singer of the group Scissor Sisters) as Emcee, the pair's time on stage was extended due to popular demand, and showcased the range of talent in Taylor's repertoire.
