In 1922 - 1924 he studied at the Faculty of Biology of Samara University. At the same time, until 1923 he worked in the ballet troupe of the Samara City Theater. In 1928 he graduated from the directing department of the State Customs Committee, in 1936 courses to improve the qualifications of creative workers. In 1928 - 1929 - employee of the research office of the State Customs Committee and consultant of Sovkino, in 1930 - 1932 - Kulturfilm. In 1932 - 1935 - innovator of Sovkino production.
