This time the detectives deal with the case of a murdered professor. One day a cleaning woman finds him shot to death in his own study. The detectives will thus investigate whether the murder is connected with the victim's persistent effort for the removal of the University's quaestor because of the latter's strange machinations during the reconstruction of the University building. And they'll also want to know why the murderer took the great risk involved in killing the victim on the university soil. The search for the answer to the question who could wish the death of the peculiar but honest professor will take them farther than they have expected.

This contemporary story deals with the relationship between two brothers, which fell apart catastrophically twenty years ago and has still not been repaired. Karel has a loving family, but his wife and two teenage children have no idea what happened between the brothers years ago; the children don't even know about Emil's existence. Karel needs Emil's help, so Emil spends several days at Karel's house. As far as brotherly help is concerned, the situation, as we learn from flashbacks, is complicated and may never be resolved, but Emil becomes close to Karel's family, discovers what he has been missing all his life, and comes forward to his daughter himself.

He has spent a lot of time to make sure that everything external meets the society’s standards that he has forgotten himself. The things that he himself likes, the activities that make him smile, and the people who make him happy. Having realised that, Hannah starts leaving hints for Max, so as to shake him out of the the everyday emptiness and make him focus on what is important.
