Biography
Hira Singh Khatri was a pioneering filmmaker who served as the first director in the Nepali film industry. Born in Dehradun, India, to a family with a military background, he received his education there before relocating to Mumbai. During his time in Mumbai, he became deeply committed to the idea of creating films in the Nepali language. He eventually collaborated with King Mahendra of Nepal to realize this goal. Throughout his career, he directed notable works such as Aama, Hijo Aaja Ra Bholi, and Parivartan.
