Gabriele Micalizzi
Biography
Gabriele is a native of Milan who sees art as the only proof of the evolution of man. Previously a footballer and a tattoo artist, he’s been working as a professional photo-reporter for the past 10 years. He firmly believes in the historical importance and power of the press and for this reason, he has set up numerous photographical exhibitions over the years. He prefers digital but is also interested in the analog form; he loves black and white because he admires its iconographic power. He is particularly attracted to political and social themes, and often covers theatres of war in the Middle East for various international publications. For Gabriele, photography has the power to ask questions so his pictures are like a story seeking to capture the feelings of those who remain at the margins of media attention.
