Biography
Film, music video, and TV commercial producer Sharon Oreck was born in 1955. She graduated from Miraleste High School in Rancho Palos Verdes, California in 1974 and was a Cinema Student at Los Angeles City College. Sharon started working in low-budget genre movies in the mid 70s. From 1984 to 2000 Oreck was the owner and operator of O Pictures, a company that made many music videos, TV commercials, short films, and documentaries. Among the artists Sharon produced music videos for are Madonna, Sting, Chris Isaak, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, U2, the Bangles, Janet Jackson, Sheila E, Metallica, John Fogerty, Peter Gabriel, Ice T, Tony Bennett, Roseanne Cash, and the Eurythmics. Oreck was nominated for an Academy Award for the short "Tales of Meeting and Parting." She won two Women in Film Awards in 1989 and 1991. Moreover, Sharon has won a handful of MTV Video Music Awards.
