Biography
Merited Artist Nguyễn Tố Uyên (born 19th July 1948 in Hanoi) is a Vietnamese dancer, actress, poet and writer. A ballet dancer by trade, she is best known for her role as Nga in "The Passerine Bird"(Con chim vành khuyên) by director Nguyễn Văn Thông in 1962 and a series of other supporting roles in many critically acclaimed classics like "The Holy Day"(Ngày lễ thánh) and "Rising Storm"(Nổi gió). From 1985, Tố Uyên stopped working in films except for a few small roles in soap operas along with doing voiceovers or editing to support her family and instead began writing professionally; by 1999, she had published over 25 poems and a poetry book. Outside of her career, she is also known for a tumultuous marriage and the resulting scandalous divorce with her first husband Lưu Quang Vũ.
